Technique

There are three Techniques levels (Level 6, 7 & 8) which follow on from the five levels of Learn-To-Swim.  However as your child graduates to Level 6 they become a member of the Wharenui Swim Club, not a Learn-To-Swim student.  The Technique levels are an important part of the teaching programme at Wharenui and aim to increase distance and stamina as well as refining technique.  We encourage swimmers to begin to compete in Junior Carnivals once they move into Techniques.

The criteria for promotion between Technique levels and finally into Prep Squad are on the notice board behind lane 8.  If you are unsure about any of the terms used please refer to the FAQ section or ask your swimmer's coach.  When the criteria have been met the final decision on promotion is the coaches.  If you have any queries please make an appointment to discuss them with your swimmers coach.
